Prices of daily necessities remain stable during the last few days before the new year's eve while stocks are confirmed to be sufficient for the first few weeks of the year 2009. Until this year-end the decrease in fuel prices has not lead to significant decreases in the prices of daily necessities.

A one thousand (1,000) rupiah increase from the price in the past few weeks. Price of duck eggs shows a slight increase of one hundred (100)rupiah per kilogram. The 1-R-1 and 1-R-2 types of rice are currently sold at six thousand (6,000)rupiah and five thousand five hundred (5,500) rupiah per kilogram respectively.

Those were the headlines. And now the news in details. span

KPU- INA - Member of the national election commitee Syamsul Bahri said that the constitutional court's decision to recognise the election of legislative candidates who winthe mayority of votes does not affect the election schedule set by the K-P-U.

The constituonal court's desicion on the election of Legislative candidates will not hamper the schedule in selecting legislative candidates. As set by the K-P-U how ever the K-P-U will also make a number of changes in its regulation to fit in with the constitutional court's decision.

Syamsul Bahri said that the K-P-U has been informed of the change in electing legislative candidates so the comission just needs to fix a number of regulations and at the same the support the constitutional court desicion.

And now limited stock of L-P-G over these past few month caused by damage at the Balongan gas refueling unit has also affected stocks in Bogor west Java. a number of L-P-G agents are starting to run out of gas cylinders causing L-P-G to become scarcer.

L-P-G vendors have been having difficulties in meeting the rising demand for gas from consumers in the area. Stocks of gas at suppliers througout Bogor have been running out the 3.5 and 50 kilograms gas cylinders are running out quickly at suppliers in Bogor causing vendors to suffer large losses.

Rising prices for cylinders of gas is not offsetting their losses. Food vendors at the Tman Topi parkm in Bogor have had to close down their businesses due to the scarcity of L-P-G.

That's a pity, the day before Christmas prices of several staple commodities such as chicken and meat have increased. The attempted coup was launched just hours after government leaders said Conte, believed to be 74 had died from illness after nearly a quarter century of rule.

Iraq's parliament approved a measure that clears the way for troops from the United Kingdom, Australia and a handful of other nations to remain in Iraq after a United Nations mandate expires at year's end. A vote on the measure was delayed for several days by differences in the parliament, whose speaker resigned just before the vote on the troop measure after angering some politicians for his brash style and insults in a session last week.

Details of the measure approved were not immediately available, but Attiya said it empowered the goverment of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki to permit the troops to stay. Forces from the Inited Kingdom, Australia, El Salvador, Romania and Estinia and NATO have been awaiting a ner arrangement to legalise their presence in Iraq after the U.N mandate expires in little over a week.
